I've had a lot of good days this year, but haven't written anything. Today, however, was such a BAD day that I had to make note. I honestly think this is my worst search to find ratio ever.
First stop was a mystery box at a business, but since planting management had changed (i.e. the planter no longer worked there). On to my main goal, which was Tucker's Grove in Goleta where an event was held in 2010 (I only found one), and a series of Dr. Who boxes in the surrounding area (again, I found only one), along with a couple other hikes whose clues I couldn't make match the trails. Then a few stops for more recent plants on the drive home got me two more finds, but the final destination was a cemetery that, after two hours in the dark scanning names on headstones trying to follow the clues, I finally gave up on.
All told, 21 hunts nabbed 4 finds. Sigh.
But beautiful weather for some short hikes and beautiful views for a coastal drive. Accentuate the positive.
